Growing up this day and age
I feel like I'm in a cage
I get ready for school
My eyes are barely open
The sound of my teacher's voice wakes me up
I take out my homework
"You're so smart" someone says
Deep down I do not believe it
Yet on my face is another emotion
I wear an invisible mask
I write my notes
Again, again, and again
The sound of the clock ticking fills the room
I'm either working or reading
Its suddenly time for lunch
The food doesn't look appetizing
I do not eat
Later in class
The teacher announces
Pack up
The day is over.
