She didn’t know what was coming
I know now
She didn’t want to go through it
I now know the benefit
She cried day and night
I smile now, through the strife
She felt alone
I can relate
She felt hopeles
I can see the light
The light in the darkness
The darkness of my life
Because you see,
She and I are one and the same
We share the same experience
We share the same name
We even share the same tattoo engraved in our brain
The one that gets us through every day
Those small black words reminding us of how we were saved
